Baby Zeke's Room

It is such an amazing feeling to have Zeke's room finished! There was lots of painting and lots of crafting that went into making his room special! I truly believe pictures are worth a 1,000 words so I'll let all the pictures do the talking. Hope you enjoy! :)

I guess you could say the theme is Tigger mixed with modern shapes, and the primary colors are blue, orange and yellow!

The above and below pictures are views looking in from the hallway! The Chevron wall (blue wall) took approx. 14 hours to complete and I must thank Waynette Wimmer and Denise Kirby for their help!! You can see one of our diaper bags hanging on the door below, it's an amazing Vera diaper bag that was given to us by the Wilkes family!

The twin bed was given to us by a friend who graduated from Tech and no longer needed/wanted it so we decided to put it in Zeke's room. Below is a closeup of the quilt Grandma Wimmer made for Zeke!

This is the wall above the twin bed! I bought floating bookshelves from Lowe's and painted them blue! The amazing picture in the middle was painted for Zeke from my cousin Jamie! I should say that all the Tiggers you see in the room were mine and range anywhere from 10-15 yrs old! Except for the Tigger on the left bookshelf that is Zeke's first Tigger bought for him by Waynette and Chris and the Tigger holding Eeyore on the right bookshelf was a gift from Mary Hogue (my mom's old boss)!

The quote says "That's the story of you and me, from the beginning we were meant to be!" Tigger

The crib and dresser came from Kyle's Aunt and Uncle, Waynette and Chris, I found the bedding at Target! You can see our glider/rocker to the right of the crib and it was purchased for us from several people in my office! Draped over the back is a Tigger quilt my mom made for Zeke!

My mom and I put together the mobile hanging from the ceiling. We mixed tissue pom poms with oriental lamps! I really like the dimension and texture it adds to the room, this is one thing I don't think a picture does justice.

I found this quote on pinterest and something about it just spoke to me! I really love the saying and decided I must add it to his room and would look great above his crib! I bought a canvas from Hobby Lobby and went to painting!

This is the wall obviously opposite from the twin bed! The Tigger phone was the last gift I received from my Memaw Willeford and that was Christmas 2001, so you can see it is 11 yrs old. It was my phone in my dorm room! The diaper cake was made for us by the Kirby family and was used at our Lubbock shower, it had a top tier that was made of wash cloths, but we needed those so I took them off and washed them :) There was also more awesome Tigger goodies on it, but I took them off. Eventually I'll take it apart, but I just thought it was too cute to completely take apart right now! Now the Tigger that sits on top is a new Tigger for Zeke, it's not one of mine. :)

I was excited for how his name turned out! I ordered the letters from Craft Cuts. It's a really neat site where you can pick the font and size of letters! Once I got them in I decided to use the same orange from the canvas and then the dark blue from the chevron wall! I originally painted them solid orange and Kyle came in from work one night and was like "wow that's really orange." So that got me to thinking about adding some kind of design to them. I wasn't sure what shape/design I wanted, but after looking at the crib sheets I decided to stick with circle/polka dots! The original plan was for his name to go above the crib and the canvas quote to go above the rocker, but once we hung his name above the crib it blended in too much with the blue wall, so I decided to switch them with the place of the canvas, and wa la it was perfection!

This wasn't made to be part of his baby room, but I had to share this amazing hospital wreath that was made for us by my dear friend Cara!! So if you come see us at the hospital you'll know which room we are in!

So this is the last wall and it sits in between the closet and door to hallway. I showed the bookcase in a previous post, but I purchased 2 of these bookshelves from Craigslist for $15 and painted this one the 2 blues from the chevron wall! (The other shelf is still untouched and sits in the garage for later use, hopefully.) The mirror was actually a house warming gift from Dale & Belinda, but it goes perfectly in Zeke's room! The 3 square artwork pieces were part of the crib set and I made the Tigger below the mirror when I was in junior high!

We were blessed at both showers with friends and families bringing their favorite books for Zeke! Kyle and I love to read and wanted to fill his shelf with books, we are super grateful for all the books we received! Guests were asked (if they wanted) to bring a book and sign the cover, there are some awesome stories written on the covers and we can't wait to share them with Zeke! The two blankets on bottom were made for Zeke, the crocheted blanket on the left was made by my mom and the camo blanket on the right was made by Waynette (Kyle has a matching blanket in the living room!) For those who notice, the monitor is not staying in the box on the shelf, that is for us to do this weekend! You can see our second diaper bag hanging on the closet door, or as we call it Kyle's diaper bag, b/c it's a bit more manly. It was given to us by Chris and Waynette!

The last thing I want to show is Zeke's first piggy bank, made for him by mom and my memaw!

So that's really an overload of pictures, but I'm so happy with Zeke's room! It's definitely colorful, fun and happy! It's a great feeling to know we are ready (or think we are ready) for his big arrival!

Lots of excitment and love!
