How can we only be 6 weeks away from D Day? I feel like the past 34 weeks have just flown by! As excited as I am for D Day, every day we grow closer I seem to come across a few more overwhelming emotions. I'm not sure I really know what to do with a newborn or how the dogs will react to Zeke or if I'm even cut out for this whole mom business, but I guess in 6 or less weeks we will find out!
They say that the most beautiful time in a woman's life is when she is pregnant, but I must admit there hasn't been one day of this pregnancy that I have felt beautiful. Most of my normal clothes won't fit, I can't get comfortable, I have stretch marks that make me want to cringe, I can't stand to look at myself in a mirror after taking a shower (TMI I know, but sorry) and I work out 5 days a week to just grow bigger! I can't emphasize to women everywhere that no matter what size, shape, color etc. your body is pre pregnancy you should really learn to love and appreciate it, words can't even begin to explain what happens to it once you decide to grow a kid inside of it!
Since my last post we've had 2 baby showers, one in Houston and one in Lubbock and both were so amazing! Both were filled with lots of love and laughter! We (Kyle, Zeke and I) are so thankful to all those that helped put them together and all that came and showered us with love!
I'm pretty sure that now we are at 34 weeks I've hit every pregnancy symptom possible. Oh, but plus one that most women won't ever experience. My hormones have decided to create a rash all over my body that itches like chicken pox, but unlike chicken pox nothing seems to help the itch and the best news...it won't go away until I deliver! So not only do I have major heart burn, I can't go to the bathroom, my calves are cramping like crazy, I can't sleep, I'm hot like an oven I also have a pregnancy rash! Yay go pregnancy *insert sarcasm here* So as you can see things are trucking along like normal here, just getting ready for D Day!
Sorry I haven't posted a pic in awhile, I must say that my belly really "dropped" as the doc would say about week 32. We went to Houston at week 31 and came back at week 32 and I'm pretty sure my tummy doubled in that week. I should of been better at taking a picture, but we were traveling and my photographer (Kyle) was a bit busy. So here you go, hope you enjoy my odd shaped belly happily carrying Zeke Douglas.
Excited for 10 baby toes and 10 baby fingers!
Mary
