36 Down & 4 To Go

Being this far into pregnancy (36.5 weeks) it seems the most common question I get is "are you ready?"  My response almost every time is "I think so, I mean I guess so..." I don't know, am I ready? Will there be a day that my light bulb will come on and be like ok we are ready!?! Is there ever a day a woman is truly ready to push a baby out of her?? Mentally, I think I'm ready, I think. Is the house ready? As far as Kyle and I know it is, but are we for sure, I don't know?!? But the one thing I know we are ready for is to meet our sweet son Zeke! In the month of February our family will officially become a family of 3 and we are ready for that!

I'm also at the point where I'm just, to be blunt, miserable. He is positioned so low (which is really good) that it's so uncomfortable when I get up after sitting for awhile. I can't get comfortable no matter how I lay to try and sleep, he feels the need to use me as a punching bag all day every day and for some reason it's like my nausea has come back. I thought I might be coming down with something, but it's like it was when I was 0-16 weeks prego, I only feel good when I'm sleeping/eating/working out, if I'm not doing one of those three things I just feel nauseous. It's also been harder/frustrating to do things around the house. If I stand too long or try to do too many things my lower back starts to hurt and I just get really tired. Everyday cleaning and cooking is just harder and laundry is a huge task to accomplish these days! But other than that I feel great *insert cheesy smile here* :)

We had an ultrasound this morning just to check his size and position and everything looks great! As I said earlier he is head down and his head is def. low and ready for take off! Fluids look good and he still looks healthy as can be. He weighed in at 6 lbs, but she said that at this point they can be anywhere form .5-1 lb off! Yet again we didn't get a full complete frontal picture of his face but only about 3/4 and he looks just like Kyle, or I think so! He does have some hair and he likes to keep his arm in front of his face! It was fun to see him again, but he's so big and squished in there it was hard to really see anything! He is just an active little guy moving around, happy as can be!

I also had a doc appt this morning to see how things were looking on my side. This is going to be rather blunt and to the point so feel free to skip this part, but oh my goodness no one tells you what it's going to be like when they "check" to see if your progressing or if your body is doing anything to prepare for labor. OH MY I'll go for a yearly check-up every month compared to having my cervix checked for delivery! Yikes that was intense and I don't think you can get your hand/arm anymore in there, but good news is I am dilated to .5 cm and things are starting to thin out so my body is preparing and doing what it's suppose to be doing! We were asked again today if once we hit 39 weeks we wanted to pick a day to be induced and we said no. We are going to let him come on his own, but if he does not come by his due date, which is officially Feb. 25 then we will be induced that week. So you can guarantee that if he's not here by the 25 he will be on one day b/t the 25 and 28, we just have to pick a day. As most know I really wanted March 1, but that's a Friday and my doc is going out of town that weekend so she asked for any day before then. So I'm thinking I'll give him till the 28 to come on his own and if not, that will be the day!

It's kind of scary not picking a day, not knowing where I'll be or what I'll be doing when/if I go into labor, but Kyle and I feel that when God and Zeke are ready then we'll go into labor, no need to plan it!

Here's to 3.5 more weeks waiting to meet our sweet son!
