At 8 months Zoey's personality is really starting to shine! We thought we had it good with Zeke, but man we have it great with Zoey. Now, lets not forget the first 7 weeks of hell dealing with tummy issues or the 6 weeks of sickness and the hospital visit, but besides all that she is amazing! :)
She is the most talkative baby ever. From the moment we pick her up till the moment she goes to bed she is all babble! I laughed last night and told Kyle "I have no idea where she gets that from, I'm not sure who in this family talks all the time..."
She is happy all the time. I picked her up from daycare earlier this week and she didn't nap, but they said she was so happy. I laughed and said well good we can have a fussy afternoon, they looked at me and said "Zoey fussy, that's not possible." :) She actually wan't fussy, but we got her down for a quick hour nap and then she went to bed early that night.
Still not crawling, she just continues to "swim on land." She goes from sitting up to down on all fours, but then she kicks her legs straight out and begins to swim/army crawl or she just sits back up. She has pulled up twice and loves to stand. Everyday I drop her off and tell her that today is the day to crawl. :) I actually enjoy that she isn't super mobile yet, but Zeke is so anxious for her to be moving more!
After 4 months of teething ONE bottom tooth has broken through. I'm not comparing them, but of course she is so different then Zeke. I was always told girls develop faster then boys, but Zeke was way ahead of Zoey. By now he was crawling and pulling up and climbing on things and he had 4 teeth. I was really afraid she was behind, but the ladies at daycare assured me she was ok. I think it just shows that Zeke is very determined and strong willed and our sweet Zo is just laid back and chill. She really just goes with the flow and her level of curiosity is way less than Zeke's ever was/is! There are times she can be very demanding and needs to be in your presence, but once you put her in the same room as you she is good to go.
She loves to eat and likes everything except for sweet peas. We have baby food making parties and Zeke helps Kyle and I make her food. He has really turned into a big helper!
She sleeps 10 hours a night and naps about two hours during the day. She still doesn't use a pacifier except to sleep, but she does like to chew on one throughout the day when her teeth hurt.
Her allergies have started to show up, but she is on singular in the morning and zyrtec at night and that has really seemed to help! Thankfully, she has yet to have ear issues. We are praying it stays that way!
We are so thankful for our sweet baby girl and are loving every minute with her and Zeke! She loves her brother and she belly laughs every time he looks at her.
