Thanksgiving. Zoey's Baptism. Christmas. 2016.

Wow, I'm a little behind on posting, but life with Zeke and Zoey is just a tad bit crazy!

SO much has happened in the past 6 weeks that I'm not really sure where the time has gone. Zoey is almost four months, but I feel like we just brought her home.

I don't even know where to begin, but with the beginning of all the holiday fun! Thanksgiving was pretty low key as we stayed in Lubbock and enjoyed lunch and dinner with family, but the Saturday after was truly a blessed day as we baptized Zoey at Holy Spirit Catholic Church! We were surrounded by so many family and friends who love and support us and it was the perfect way to give thanks for our faith. We were so thankful for everyone that could make it as the roads were a bit sketchy from the winter storm that blew through, but Zoey was was beautiful and didn't even cry when Father poured the water on her head. Words will never be able to express the feeling I had as we stood there with her and her Godparents as she was baptized.

Zoey wore the shoes I actually wore on my baptism day in May 1984.

A few weeks after Thanksgiving we loaded up and headed to Houston for Christmas and Zoey turned 3 months the day we left, but don't worry I took a ton of pictures before we left. :) I was a bit nervous traveling with an almost 3 year old and a 3 month old, but surprisingly enough both kids did great! Zoey pretty much slept the entire time and when awake I played some of her musical/lighted toys for her. She was happy the entire trip. Zeke also did really good, but he enjoyed his leap pad and Elmo on daddys phone, we also stopped so he could play at chick fila for about a hour, he didn't get pissy tired of traveling until the last hour and at that point he was just done. :(

Our time in Houston was great, Zoey met nearly all of our family and friends! She was a trooper and Im pretty sure everyone instantly fell in love with her! :) we had Christmas with my moms family and Christmas with my dads family. Kyle and I had an awesome date night with Kyle's sister and brother n law. Zeke rode the 4 wheeler and played in the mud. The kids visited Nanna at work. Zoey and I got to hang out with my best friend from elementary school, who also has a daughter who is nearly 2 months to the day younger than Zoey. We baked and decorated Christmas cookies for the first time with Zeke, although all he wanted to really do was eat the icing. Time at home is always busy, but always fun. I think this trip was more enjoyable with Zoey than Zeke, but Zeke's schedule got a bit crazy for a few days with only a 30 minute nap or maybe a hour nap and late nights up and sleeping in etc. So he had his not so fun moments, but overall we had an awesome trip and we can't wait for spring break to get here so we can spend another week at Nanna and Papa Joe's house. Every day this week Zeke has asked to go on vacation and when I ask where he wants to go he says Nanna's house.

After spending almost a week in Houston we headed back to Lubbock on the 23rd and Nanna and Papa Joe came back with us to spend Christmas morning with the kids! Zeke was excited to leave cookies for Santa, but I don't think he truly understood what we were talking about. He slept in Christmas morning till 8:30. :) Santa brought him a blue scooter and Zoey her first baby doll. Zoey literally slept through everything that morning so Zeke had all the fun by himself. He likes his scooter, but his favorite gift came from Nanna and Papa Joe. He got a weed eater, blower, chainsaw and lawn mower. The kid weed eats the house every day and he does it just like Kyle following around the edges, well just like how Kyle weed eats outside, Kyle obviously doesn't weed eat inside the house. :) Everything at Christmas was just fun with Zeke. He was excited about lights on all the houses, he was excited every time he saw Santa, yes he sat in Santa's lap 4 times, he LOVED opening gifts and wanted to help open everyone theirs. He would open a gift and then say "hummm whats in here, or what is that." It was truly amazing to watch the joy shine through his eyes. This year I got a little people nativity so we could talk about Jesus and it being his birthday and Zeke loves to tell me that Mary and Joseph are Jesus' parents and that the angel goes on top of the manger. :) As often as he can be a little shit/terror, I mean angel, he can also be pretty sweet and amazing. So overall Zoey's first Christmas was very uneventful other than the fact that she got to meet a whole lot of family and friends and Zeke's Christmas was magical!

Zeke loved having Papa Joe here to rough house with!

Mom and dad headed back to Houston early the 26th, well early as in as soon as mom and I got back from doing some after Christmas shopping, so about 10 that morning. There was a winter storm coming and they wanted to get out before it got bad and boy did it get bad. It was a record snow storm for Lubbock in like 20 years we got over 11" of snow. We were literally snowed in for days, but Zeke loved it. Thankfully his ski pants from last year fit and he has rain boots so we played in the snow EVERY. SINGLE. DAY. Let me just tell you I was tired of playing in the snow, but Zoey even got to go out and experience it for a little bit. I know she won't ever remember it, but I have pictures for her to one day see. The suit was a bit big, but I couldn't help myself! ;-) I may have laughed, a lot…

She wasn't super excited about the snow...

I can't believe it is 2016 and not only is it 2016, but we are almost done with the first week of 2016. We sent 2015 out with a bang. As in we stayed in with Chris, Waynette and Clay and played cards. :) I feel like most of 2015 I was just pregnant as I was pregnant Jan-Sept., but Kyle and I did take a weekend getaway to Ruidoso. Zeke became a big brother and Zoey was born. Overall 2015 was a good year to us, but I am excited to see what 2016 has in store for us as a family of four!

So Zoey's third month was probably the best month for her so far. I know it's only been 3 months, but lets be honest the first two were pretty miserable. If you talk to her she will talk to you, just look at her and she will smile. She absolutely loves music and will coo at the music on her play mat for a hour by herself. She loves to sleep through the night, about 9 hours right now. She LOVES to laugh at her daddy and she will laugh and talk to her brother when he gets in her face. She loves to lay out on her play mat or sit in her swing. She thinks she can sit up and actually prefers to sit up, but you have to obviously hold her up. We put her in the bumbo, but for only like 2 minutes because I was afraid her neck would get sore. She holds her head up really well, but she still tends to bobble a little. I really don't know that there is anything she doesn't necessarily like right now. She loves to take baths and rides well in the car. I'd say the one thing she does hate is she hates to be cold, get her cold and she will literally scream at you! People always ask me how she is and all I can do is smile and say she is perfect and amazing! However, I can preface it by saying the first 7 weeks were miserable and very trying on me, but now she is perfect and just thinking about her brings a smile to my face and a warmth to my heart! Zeke was a super good/easy baby, but I don't ever remember he talking and laughing as much as Zoey does. Plus, Zoey is a snuggler and Zeke never was. Guess it's just the difference between them, but she seriously melts my heart.
