I'm not sure where the last 2.5 years have gone, but man it's getting fun. Most days he is just fun to be around, while other days we are looking to get rid of him to the first taker. :) He's really funny to just sit and listen to. He has seriously soaked up everything thing we have told him and sometimes we can't help but laugh!
Like I said most days are plain fun, but man when he has a melt down, he has a melt down or rather a tantrum. However, we have learned that he responds better when we stay calm and just talk to him. I know it sounds cliche, but raising our voice or getting angry etc just makes the situation worse. I really think it's the hardest on Kyle because he doesn't want to be "soft" and he has extremely high expectations of Zeke, but I think as each day passes he sees that even though we aren't beating him ok maybe spanking him every time we turn around our method of talking to him and teaching him to make right choices, like not throwing a tantrum for what he wants, is working and turning Zeke into a loving and respectable little guy. However, lets be honest Zeke has still had his fair share of spankings. :)
He is his daddy's mini me. He is more interested in mechanical things and activities then anything else. He would prefer to eat, breathe and sleep outside if we would let him. He loves to work in daddy's shop, mow grass, weed eat, pull weeds, pick the garden, "fix" things and just follow Kyle around. If Kyle has a tool then Zeke has to have a tool. He loves to give Bear-Bear hugs and play chase with him.
When we are in the house he loves to help do laundry, take out the trash, wash dishes and help me cook. He just wants to see and be a part of everything we are doing, wether inside or outside. He has also fallen in love with Mickey Mouse, we have watched "clubhouse" and "christmas" Mickey more than 100 times already!
He is still a great sleeper, in bed by 8 and he sleeps till Kyle wakes him about 6:45/7 and when it's nap time we just say lets go take a nap and off he goes! He definitely takes after me and likes his sleep!
He can be the sweetest little boy in the world and then can turn around and say "pick up my clothes" or "pick up my things." Ha nice try little dude. He has become really good at saying thank you, we are just continuously working on asking for things in a polite way, like with the word please.
Potty training and daycare blues are much better. He has been telling his teacher when he needs to go and I'm not sure the last time we've had an accident at home. The only thing we are still working on is him telling us he needs to go poop (sorry tmi, but it's the truth), we've just gotten good at making him sit on the toilet and he will go.
We are constantly talking about his baby sister and I really can't wait to see them together. He knows her name and everything that is hers around the house. I'm a little excited and a little nervous!
I wish I could record him 24/7 so I could just remember everything sweet and funny thing he says.
We are truly blessed to have this little boy in our world. Even with all the allergies/sinus issues he is always so fun and outgoing. Speaking of issues we had to reschedule his tube surgery from last week to this week because he has an upper respiratory virus and they wouldn't put him under. Hopefully things will be better this week and he will get his tube on Friday.
So without further ado here are a few fun pictures from the other day.
