I have finally hit what most people would call the sweet spot, the second trimester. However, there has been no sweet spot for me. I thought I'd be brave and not take my medicine Sunday night as I had made it to 13 weeks, but that was a HUGE mistake. All of Monday I seriously wanted to crawl in a hole and die, you could have buried me alive and I would have been ok with it, needless to say I won't be skipping my meds for awhile. I am so thankful and seriously love the outcome of the situation, but I hate/dread the 40 weeks it takes to get to the beautiful baby. I can't tell you the last time I ate a vegetable, unless it was a potatoe, apparently my love for potatoes will never go away. Veggies make me want to hurl and my mom made homemade, awesome chicken pot pie over spring break and yep you guessed it I ate 3 biscuits and the chicken, picked around all the veggies. However, put a plate of fruit in front of me and I'll devour every bit of it. My cravings come and go, but besides fruit they are never "healthy" cravings. Our house is a disaster and needs a good deep spring cleaning, but I can't find the energy to do it. I'm tired, more like exhausted. I struggle to make it through the day. I do good to get Zeke home, play with him, get dinner made for everyone and get things ready for the next day. I would seriously be lost without Kyle. He has been great at doing the dishes and cleaning the kitchen after we eat, he also gives Zeke a bath so I can get things together for the next day. Plus, he gets Zeke up and ready every morning so I can have just a few extra minutes of shut eye. Thank you DKP!
I hate not feeling like myself. I want to go for a 6 mile run, heck even a 4 mile run would feel good, but I'm just not a pregnant runner. It hurts and I can't ever catch my breath and I just feel like a whale, what I'd give to go for a good solid run right now. I'm tired, I'm flat out exhausted and I know a good run would help me feel better, but instead I hit the gym for spin or bootcamp or just some weight lifting. While it does help boost my energy right after, I still feel drained at the end of the day. I'm going to keep praying that my energy comes back to me. On a positive note I'm now 13 weeks along and I still weigh 3 lbs less than when I first got pregnant with Zeke and that makes me super proud! I'm still in most of my regular clothes as all my maternity clothes are way too big, but I have to wear a belly band with my work pants because I just can't get them zipped. :) This week the weather has turned pretty so I've been living in dresses and skirts. Mom and I did go shopping over spring break and I got some new maternity wear, so I'm excited for spring/summer.
We had an ultrasound yesterday and everything with Sweet P looks great, still due on Sept 28! He/she measures right on point and looks beautiful! The tech isn't allowed to 100% tell me the gender as we are only 13 weeks, but she had a good guess. I had her tell me, but I've only shared that with two people, I haven't even told Kyle. ;-) (he wasn't at the ultrasound) We will officially find out what we are having in May. Boy or girl, we are just excited and truly blessed.
This picture is from week 12, but it was spring break and I'm just getting around to posting.
One trimester down and two to go.
Here's to nauseousness and exhaustion passing.
Kyle + Mary + Zeke + Sweet P + Bear-Bear & Kato
