A Family loss, it makes you cry
Makes you hurt, go numb inside
You struggle to cope
You simply can’t deal
The fact that they're gone, it can’t be real
You’re in a dream
You’re in a daze, please take me out
Of this painful haze

I found the above poem and it fits perfect to how I feel. After getting the news Saturday morning that my Uncle Doug did not wake up I just kept saying, it can't be real.
Douglas Mitchell Bozarth, Uncle Doug, was my mom's youngest brother who lived in Florida, but he wasn't just an uncle to me he was my friend, a best friend you could say. We had a bond and a connection like no two other people in my family. We were pen pals when I was in elementary school, we just connected when I was very young. I can't describe what we had, but it was special! He came from FL to watch me graduate high school, he came from FL to be at my wedding and I went a week at a time summer after summer to be with him. I'm struggling with this loss because I can't get to Florida to say "good-bye" to him. I feel like I should be able to pick up the phone and he'll answer. I won't see him again and I won't be able to tell him I love him again. I cry and I cry and I cry praying for peace and comfort, but there's no help. I'm sure he knew how much I loved him and how he meant the world to me, but I can't tell him that now.
God Made Uncles
God knew the need for someone
To add humor to our hearts.
Someone who would spice
Our lives with laughter and mischief.
Someone we could run to
For special comfort and friendship;
Someone whose life would
Touch ours in a
Hundred different ways...
So He made Uncles.
**Some of these pictures aren't the best b/c they are pictures of pictures, but here are some of us over the years....
Not really sure what year this was, that is my cousin Jamie, Doug & myself.
2002 Dayton High School Graduation, Doug was the first person to introduce me to what a hangover feels like....
I don't know what to say other than Doug loved his jeep and he loved the beach!
Oddly enough it was the only standard I've ever been able to drive!
2003: My first trip to Disney World.

That is so beautiful, Mary. I am praying for you and your family.
