I love fall as it has so many good things that come with it. It brings the trees to beautiful colors, cooler weather, carving pumpkins, hot coco, smells that consist of apple/cinnamon/pumpkin/spices and most of all it brings the Holidays. Fall is not my favorite season, but falls closely in line at second! Here are a few pics of our pumpkins, we had a pumpkin carving party with our friends Courtney and Brian!
As we prepare ourselves for the holidays it seems that Christmas seems to push Thanksgiving out of the way and not that I don't like Christmas, but there is such meaning and joy behind Thanksgiving. I'm not a history buff by any means, but the pilgrims celebrated their first Thanksgiving in 1621 after the first corn harvest proved successful then they had their second Thanksgiving in 1623 to mark an end of a long drought that had threatened their crops. The pilgrims gave thanks and feasted for the good they had. This month is about giving thanks, even in the toughest times there are things to be thankful for! I used to be the first to take things for granted, but I've finally come to realize that there are too many blessings in my life to take anything for granted. I've learned to be thankful for the smallest things like taking a shower, brushing my teeth, the ability to work out when I want and this list goes on for miles. We may not have all the money in the world and we might not of accomplished all of our dreams and wants, but we are blessed and we are thankful!
I give thanks to God, my amazing husband, my family and friends and to all the small things in my every day life! I have so much to be thankful for that this year I'm going to try and keep my excitement for Christmas bundled away until after Thanksgiving!
Giving Thanks!
