I've been putting off this post because I just can't believe our little girl is ONE. Her first year flew by. I don't know if it's because she is the second and life is just busier with two or if it's because she was sick for so long or what, but here we are and she is 1!
Her first year was definitely a roller coaster ride for all of us. Trying to find our new norm as a family of four, dealing with sickness after sickness, brother loving her then wanting to get rid of her then loving her again. It has been a wild ride, but we have loved, ok made it through, each crazy turn!
I really didn't understand the saying "there is a difference in the boys and the girls" until we of course had one of each. Our little girl, is very much a little girl. She loves to cuddle and snuggle and manipulate you to pieces. She is overly cautious in every move she makes, she is independent, but then she isn't, she loves to laugh and dance with every beat of music she hears, and she just loves to be with us.
Her smile lights up a room and her laughter brings a smile to our hearts. She is a very clean eater, but also a very picky eater. She LOVES chocolate and will only eat sweets if it contains chocolate.
She loves to sleep and will sleep 12-13 hours every night and still nap for 2-3 hours each day. She refuses to walk in grass unless she has shoes on.
She loves to follow her brother all around the house and aggravate him to pieces.
She definitely has us around her finger, but there is something about her that seriously makes us melt. She hates the word no, but is coming to understand we mean business when we say it.
She is a flirt and loves men, which makes this momma a little scared. She will literally walk up to any man and take their hand and walk with them, we will have to teach stranger danger extra early!
She talks and talks and talks and talks. I'm not sure I'm ready for her to make sentences, we may never have a moment of silence again.
We love her to pieces and are so very thankful for her, we are truly blessed to be her parents. I am excited to see more of her personality come to life and watch her grow into a toddler.
I sure wish time could slow down, but I know it never will so we will try to cherish each and every moment with her. She is a true blessing and brings joy to everyday.
Here are some pictures from her first birthday. We didn't really have a theme, just pink and gold. :)
