Goodbye 2014 Hello 2015

As 2014 is closely closing I'm more than ready to say goodbye and I welcome 2015 with open arms! 2014 started off with a bang as I ran my first full marathon, and it was truly one of the most amazing things I've ever accomplished, but then March came and once I turned 30 the year began to go downhill. I don't care what people say, but 30 has truly been my worst year and I'm looking forward to turning a new leaf as I thankfully turn 31 in just a few months. Lots has happened with my health and body since turning 30 and the doctor just says "our bodies change and it happens to a lot of women when they turn 30..." From dealing with pre cancerous cells for cervical cancer and now trying to conceive for almost a year and obviously having no luck, I'm ready to say goodbye to 2014 and I'm positive 2015 is going to bring good things! On a positive note I am ending the year and beginning the new year with zero pre cancerous cells in my body! As 2014 has brought many frustrations, struggle and tears it also brought many memories, laughter, love and most of all a growing and healthy Zeke! He is truly the best blessing in our lives and we are so thankful to have a healthy and happy little boy! I can not begin to tell you the number of times I get asked "when is Zeke going to have a little brother or sister" and as hard as it is/was to keep the tears back and just reply "it's all in God's time" we do remember to give thanks that we are blessed with our precious Zeke. We know that God has a plan and we are striving to truly seek and appreciate God's plan for our lives in this new year. So as I gladly say goodbye to 2014 I want to remember and focus on all the good times the year has brought so here are our ABC's of 2014.

A is for Adventures. As Zeke turned one everyday has been a new adventure, who knew there was so much a little person could explore and find to do in a day.
B is for Beach House. We spent the 4th of July with my dads family and it was one of the best vacations we had this year. Zeke loved to eat watermelon and swim in his pool, he was great entertainment for all!
C is for Church. We have truly found a home at Holy Spirit!
D is for determined. We were/are determined to make the best memories as a family, and we made some pretty great ones in 2014!
E is for excitement. Zeke has brought more excitement to our lives then I think we ever thought possible.
F is for Faith, Family, Friends. We would be lost without any of these.
G is for Galveston. Zeke LOVES the beach and the water and Kasey was there to join in the fun!
H is for Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo. Zeke's first trip to HLSR and he loved the petting zoo, especially the llamas!
I is for Home Improvements. After a nasty hail storm we gave our house a face lift and I love it! A new roof color, a new garage door in a new color, a new paint color and no more shutters!
J is for Jobs. We are thankful to have jobs we enjoy going to every day.
K is for Kasey and David. Kasey and David moved to Houston so not only do we get to spend time with my family when we travel to Houston, but we also get to see K and D. From going to Galveston, playing at the park and having date nights we love spending time with the both of them.
L is for Lubbock-Cooper FFA. What a year Kyle had with his students! Winning 2nd at Nationals with Agri-Science Fair project and 3rd in State with his Jr FFA skills team; he and his students work really hard and it truly paid off this year!
M is for Houston Marathon. Words will never be able to express my gratitude to my family for all their support as I embarked on that journey, but it was the most exciting and rewarding journey I've ever taken. So proud that I finished!
N is for New Year. We are ready for 2015!
O is for One Year Old. Wow how things change in a year as Zeke is about to turn two, but it has been the greatest year with our sweet one year old. We have enjoyed watching him grow and learn with every new day.
P is for Painting Pumpkins. Zeke and Graham painted pumpkins for Halloween and we know it will become an annual event with our sweet friends!
Q is for Questions. Zeke has begun with asking questions, it can make things interesting especially when we aren't 100% sure what he is saying some days.
R is for Ruidoso. We spent a few days enjoying the snow in Ruidoso. I had a blast skiing and Zeke and Kyle enjoyed sledding and playing in the snow. Def. memories we will hold on to forever!
S is for Summer and Swimming. Zeke can not get enough of the pool. He LOVES water and we had a great summer enjoying the warm weather and pool!
T is for Thanksgiving. Even has the year had it's struggles we remain thankful for the blessings in our life.
U is for Unbelievable. What a year it has been, some days I feel like it was a dream and some days I felt like it was a nightmare.
V is for Vacations. Galveston, Houston, Sargent, Rudioso. We were able to take many family vacations this year and I'm thankful for the memories we made with each.
W is for Wine Half Marathon. I ran the wine half marathon with my friend Courtney and what an awesome day it was to run with her and help her run her very first half marathon!
X is for Example. As Kyle and I strive to be the best example to Zeke we can be.
Y is for Yay! The year is over!
Z is for Abilene ZOO. Zeke's first trip to the zoo and he loved everything about it, especially feeding the giraffes and riding the train!

So with that we say goodbye to 2014 and even with the hard times we thank you for all the memories you brought. 2015 is going to be a blessed year!

May you bring in the new year with a bang!
Mary
