Spring Break 2014

We did it, we survived our first spring break as a family of 3. Technically we had spring break together last year, but Zeke was only 2, almost 3 weeks old so you can imagine what that week consisted of.... So this was our first official spring break trip, it was filled with lots of firsts and many memories were made.

We started the week of with St. Patrick's Day and my 30th birthday. My mom and dad took the day off so I was able to spend the day with everyone I love the most, my parents, my amazing husband and my sweet sweet baby boy. We spent most of the day at the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo. We took Zeke to the petting zoo and all around the show grounds. Zeke definitely loves and I mean LOVES animals, all types, shapes and sizes. He loved, more like laid, on a llama, he petted a deer, a potbelly pig, a kangaroo, a donkey, lots of kids (baby goats) and little lambs. He loved all of them, there wasn't a single animal he was scared of or tried to run away from. He ran to all of them, especially the llama!

We had a lot of fun and I couldn't think of a better way to bring in my 30's then by spending the day with my family! I also celebrated my birthday by having a girls night at the rodeo with my mom to see Robin Thicke, Kyle and I went dancing with one of our dearest friends Dwight, hung out with Kasey and David and then mom and I went shopping at the outlet mall. I just celebrated all week. :)

The other fun outing we had with Zeke was taking him to the beach. Yes, he had been to the beach when we were in Corpus last summer, but he was like 6 months old and just beginning to sit up on his own so this time was completely different and oh so fun! We picked up Aunt Kasey on our way and she spent the entire day with us. It was perfect weather, sunny and breezy, but the water was cold so besides walking through it there was no getting in! Zeke LOVED the sand and he threw it everywhere. He had sand from the top of his hat to every inch of his body. I'm pretty sure he would of spent 12 hours or more out there if we would of let him.  We blew bubbles and tried to build sand castles, Zeke would just destroy them as they came out of the bucket, but it was still fun! We then ate lunch at a place called FishTales and we sat upstairs on the balcony and we overlooked the water and Pleasure Pier (it's like a boardwalk with games and rides, etc). It was a great day, probably one of my all time faves!

We also spent lots of time with family and I really need to get better about taking pictures of Zeke with everyone, but mom, dad, Kyle and I had a fun night out at dad's rodeo committee party and Memaw Bozarth came over and kept Zeke. I know she loved every minute of it, I'm just sad I didn't get a picture of them. I also didn't get a picture of Nanna, Papa Joe and Zeke, seriously got to work on that. :( Papaw Willeford and Lilly came over and spent some time with us and Zeke loved all over them, I did get pictures of them. :)

It was a great trip! Zeke slept so good, which hasn't happened very often when we travel, we spent lots of time with family and many memories were made. What a blessing it is to spend a week at Nanna and Papa Joe's house! It's always hard for me to leave, but I'm thankful for the great people, jobs and lives we have in Lubbock.

Looking forward to summer vacation!
