Welcome to The Pate's

After being married for almost a month and realizing that when you live 9 hours from your family it's hard to share everyday happenings with them; so we decided to start a blog and we hope you enjoy!

The past few month's have meant lots of changes for both Kyle and I, and I think we might be getting life back to normal. After 2 loads of house stuff from Houston and another 2 loads from Jayton, along with all of our amazing new wedding items, we are finally getting our house together! Our rent house is bengining to turn into our home, slowly but surely! (pics will come once the walls aren't bare)

With these few weeks of being married we have already learned a great deal:
-Changing your last name means lots and lots of paper work, so far we have accomplished the social security number and drivers license, but we still have my concealed handgun license, passport, student loans, ATT, LP&L and Atmos. *sigh*
- Knowing each other for 7 years, I think, has really been an added bonus for us, but even though we truly know each other we still aggrevate and can drive each other up the wall.
-I need to work on patience, patience that he will do everything he says... just on his time :-)
-Our boys get jealous of each other very easily (boys being: Bear-Bear our long-haired dachshund and Kato our blue-heeler) and they both need separate attention.
-We love having alone time, Kyle enjoys going to the coffee shop and well me, I like to go work-out and I'm going to start hitting up the pool!
-Relationships with friends change and it's been a tough struggle for me as I don't usually grow close to many, but a few that I share the world with, so when things get shaken up a bit it takes me for a roller-coaster ride. But we're working through the changes and taking it day by day!
-We are trying to find a church to make our home. Kyle was raised at St. Elizabeth's here in Lubbock and of course that is the Catholic Church I came into, but we don't have that family connection there anymore so we're going to try out Holy Spirit and see about making that our new church home and maybe it'll bring new friendships.
-It's true, people always told me that your single friends don't want to hang out with you as much when you get married, so we are trying to find a way to meet new married couples.. just haven't figured out where to find them..
-We enjoy the small things of being married, like going grocery shopping together, going to Lowe's to buy needed items for our house and most of all laying on the couch watching TV.
-Not sure where all the laundry comes from, but I feel like it's a never ending task.
-Communication truly is the key ingredient to a life of happiness and bliss!

We hope you'll enjoy our blog and we'll try to post regurlarly, but no guarantees :-)

Much love!
Mary + Kyle + Kato & Bear-Bear
